I had dinner at Myth and it was a delicious meal for sure. Aside from serving French/California fare, it noticeably felt like a California restaurant. It’s the first time since I moved back to SF that I went to a restaurant that truly made me recognize the difference with NYC restaurants. NYC restaurants always feel so cool, trendy and almost luxurious. You feel the glitz and slight pretension exuding from the menu, the people, the decor. In California, at least in the Bay area, you can get just as delicious of a meal in a very laid back, down to earth kind of ambiance. The ingredients taste fresh. The servers are genuinely friendly. It just feels very real.
We shared the Seared Marscapone and Potato Gnocchi with Peas, Pancetta, and Parmesan Butter Sauce for an appetizer and then had Seared Scallops with Abalone Mushrooms and Potato Puree and Braised Short Ribs with Baby Vegetables and Horseradish Potato Puree. YUMMY! The scallops were tender and delectable! Amazing!
