Twinkle, Twinkle Burma Star

Having walked by B Star a couple of times before, I was intrigued by the menu and the restaurant being filled by a fair number of patrons. I figured in spite of the fusion-sounding dishes, it must be pretty good. After confirming with Yelp and seeing that they got 4 stars, Pdho was convinced enough to check it out. By the time we took a good look at the menu, we were at a lost as to what to order. There were so many odd yet interesting sounding dishes that seemed to be a mish mash of Asian cuisines. I thought it was supposed to be more Burmese-like, but I’m not quite sure. Either way, we weren’t sure which ones would be good, and again, we turned to Yelp for some advice. (I seriously wonder what we would do sometimes without all the technology that allows us to access the amazing amount of information that is out there.) The tea leaf salad was pretty good but maybe not worth the $12 price tag. The French fries were a little too thinly cut, but it came with a curry-flavored aioli of some sort that really tasted good. Lastly, we tried the calamari (which was stir-fried as opposed to batter-fried) and it turned out to be equally tasty. All in all, I’m not sure if I completely agree with the Yelpers’ rating, but it’s worth checking out once.
