Koo’s Korean Hodduk

Koo's Grill

As if we weren’t absolutely stuffed from dinner at Oo Kook, Pdho insisted on stopping by and picking up dessert at some Korean cart parked outside a Korean market.  I have to admit that I was a little bit doubtful about these Korean pancakes in spite of the many raves I had heard from my sister, Pdho and Sdho.  I’m just not a sweets person so my curiosity for all things sugary is pretty limited.  So I really wasn’t looking forward to this excursion.  As I waited for the hodduk to be made, the smell of sweetness was permeating the air, but I felt immuned.

Hodduk - Korean Pancake

At $1 per pancake, it definitely is a very inexpensive treat.  In all honesty, the pancakes don’t look all that appetizing, but these sweet doughy pancakes actually ended up being quite addicting.  One bite was not enough.  They reminded me of a sweet version of a scallion pancake, but they did not end up being as sweet as I expected.  In spite of having to endure Pdho’s “I told you so”, I have to admit that I really enjoyed these little pancakes.  They are definitely tasty!

HELL YEAH!!! More props to you even finding out the name of this cart. I always refer to it as the hotduck cart (My Korean is awful). Nice picture of Nugget posing next to the cart unintentionally. Funny stuff.

Ask Stella how if I wasn’t so hungry one night for these things, I was going to beat the shit out of these dumb Asian punks in front of us.
